Years ago, when my husband and I became licensed to do foster care in our home, we wanted to create an inspiring space for kids to wake up to each day. We created an “I can change the world” themed room, and here is how we did it!
I started in the corner and began creating the sun beams on the wall, by using painters tape.
I put the sunbeams and the horizon of the sun on an angle and chose a slightly lighter color than the wall color.
Off with the tape! We have sun beams.
Next, I drew my city scape on the walls and painted them a deep yellow color, with the angle of the horizon.
Below the horizon line, I painted the wall black, with the words “ready, set, go” in the deep yellow color, just for fun. I took a cute calendar I had and framed a few of the photos. This photo doesn’t show them, but I changed the curtains that are hanging to black curtains. I hung a little red airplane I found at Hobby Lobby in the corner.
Thanks for visiting! I hope you are inspired!
